Our Story

Born from open source. Built for banks.

In 2006, there was no open-source SWIFT message model. If you needed to parse an MT103 in Java, you licensed an expensive SDK or wrote your own parser from scratch. We chose a third option — build one and give it away.

The project started as “WIFE” on SourceForge. Within months, developers at banks and payment processors were using it in production. What started as a developer tool became infrastructure that financial institutions depended on.

In 2007 we established Prowide as a commercial entity in Argentina to support what the community was building on, rebranding the library as “Prowide Core” and introducing commercial extensions.

As demand grew internationally, a partnership with K-Consultants in The Netherlands brought global distribution, and by 2015 the joint venture became Prowide International, headquartered in Luxembourg.

In 2022 we consolidated into a single entity, streamlining operations under one roof. Today we hold to the same principle we started with: if it can be open, it should be.
